Latest Podcast
My latest podcast episode.
In this episode, I’m rejoined by Lifestyle Educator & Speaker, Rich Ahlers to discuss the importance and science of blood work, the key metrics to look out for when getting labs done, and dispel some of the common health myths when it comes to cholesterol, triglycerides, and biomarkers!
Every time I chat with Rich, either on the podcast or personally I learn so much and am inspired by his health knowledge, wisdom, insights, and passion for change in Western healthcare systems which ignore personalisation, root causes, and lifestyle interventions that make the most difference.
If you are serious about upgrading and taking full responsibility for your health I’d implore you to check out this episode of the podcast by clicking one of the links below to watch or listen wherever you get your podcasts ↓

1 Insight To Consider
Thought-provoking insights to think about.
In this edition of Your Best Life, I posed a question of how long can “we” (meaning us as humans) go without needing to do something and set a challenge to see how long you can go “doing nothing”without caving…
Did you accept the challenge? If so, how did that go?
I’ve come back from holiday where I used the time to “do nothing”meaning no work, or striving to make progress towards personal or business goals.
I purposely didn’t take my laptop as I usually do so I wouldn’t be tempted back into work. And, full disclaimer while I did take my phone I only used it for a couple of purposes such as maps.
Anyway…
Through this experience, I learned that I’m “bad” at and find it challenging to “do nothing” between the times of 9:00 am-ish and early evening.
For me, these times are when we’re to make “hay” while the sunshines which I know is an old saying—and ultimately do stuff, make sh*t happen, show up, and be active in whatever shape or form that looks like!
Early morning, from the time I wake up to 9:00 am-ish and the evening from about 6:00 pm-ish, is when I’m happy and most content to “do nothing”.
In fact, I feel that it’s my default state—to fall into relaxation, recuperation, and reflection at these times ready for the day ahead or the next day that follows. These times are when I’m most happy to just be present, doing nothing but being present.
In reflection, I didn’t need a holiday to realise this. I already had the sense beforehand that this is the way I’m wired. My holiday just confirmed it!
Overall, this challenge has been a good self-awareness exercise. I’d love to know what you’ve learned about yourself. Are you like me and happy to “do nothing” in the early morning and the evening or are these the times you prefer to get at it?

1 Idea To Act On
Simple actions to improve your health & life.
When it comes to health, there are a few principles that I abide by. One of which is to think through the lens of and to do what humans have done for the longest.
For example, eating real whole foods, moving our bodies, connecting with others, and prioritising rest, recovery and sleep.
This principle helps me to navigate the health landscape by simplifying all of the noise and health information out there which can lead many, like myself to feel confused, overwhelmed, and left wondering what’s true, and actually matters for living a long healthy life at a high level.
Can you relate? 🤔
At the end of the day, our species have survived a lot and continue to keep going so we must be doing something right. We’ve got this far and haven’t become extinct 😅 so approaching health through the lens of what humans have done the longest is a no-brainer.
Sure, times have changed! Drastically!
But, that’s not to say that we can’t seek the wisdom of our ancestors and apply the idea of doing what humans have done for the longest to improve our health in the modern world.
This is how I navigate health. And, I’d implore you to try it. It might be only one of the things that can save us from ourselves!
Principle Of Life

#21: Learn to feel feelings without reacting, responding, or casting judgment and then let go.
