How Long Can You “Do Nothing” For?

Intro

In this edition of Your Best Life, I share my latest podcast with Zane Zalite on Ayurveda at work, an insight into how to approach health, and an idea on “doing nothing”. We finish with a life principle also on well-being, let’s dive into it ↓

Latest Podcast

My latest podcast episode.

In this episode, I’m joined by Zane Zalite an award-winning Ayurveda Health Expert with over 20 years of experience. For over two decades, she has helped thousands of clients reclaim optimum health using an integrated Ayurveda Health approach.

Throughout our conversation, we explore Ayurveda in the workplace and how to apply the timeless wisdom of Ayurveda to lead healthier lives and create a positive work environment.

I never considered how we can apply Ayurvedic principles at work until I met Zane. She’s opened my mind to why this is so important and duh it makes so much sense when we consciously think about it.

1 Insight To Consider

Thought-provoking insights to think about.

Health matters. There is no getting away from it. Without our health, what do we really have? Nothing? 🤷‍♂️

The challenge is that most people who become health conscious mix it up with their identity. Noah Ryan who I follow on x.com (previously Twitter) summed it up best with this post!

Maybe, I’ve been guilty of myself. I’m still exploring this as an option 👀

But one thing I know that I’ve been guilty of is approaching health with a serious mindset.

Why?

Because it matters!!

One thing I’ve learned about myself is this:

I have a serious mindset when it comes to what matters.

I’m exploring the reasons and beliefs behind it and sense it could have something to do with wanting to stay on top of it, not letting myself slip or underplay its importance.

If something matters, we dedicate the time, effort, energy, and investment to it.

And that’s no more truer than with our health!!

To be the healthiest version of ourselves, dedicating the time, effort, energy, and investment to it is vital. There is no getting around it.

As I’ve been learning and realised, there is a better way though than being so serious about it all of the time.

This way involves adopting a more playful and fun mindset routed in possibility and joy.

That’s not to say there won’t be ups and downs. Challenges and tough moments, but that’s when it’s even more important to embrace this mindset.

To realise that we are experiencing this or that challenge or tough moment for the very fact that we’re alive and experiencing it can make us stronger!

It requires a totally different mindset. And, by no means am I there yet. It’s something I think about often and am striving towards.

It’s part of my journey of becoming less serious and more joyful and playful while not underplaying the importance of what matters, and in this context that is our health!

1 Idea To Act On

Simple actions to improve your health & life.

This last week, I had a great conversation with Rich Ahlers. Episode out soon 😜

In our pre-conversation, we were speaking about how we almost always end up doing something towards business, personal projects, or our personal growth when we set time to do nothing or take a break, whether this is going on vacation, choosing to just have a “day off”, or if other events come up!

This got me thinking…

How long can “we” (“we” meaning us human beings) go without needing to do something? 🧐

In other words, how long can we go “doing nothing”?

I have a holiday coming up in a few weeks so I’m going to give this a go. I’ll let you know how I get on 👀

And, it’s an “idea” or well challenge for you to try as well… if you’re willing to accept…

How long can you go “doing nothing”?

Whether that’s on vacation or choosing to have a day off.

How long can you go “doing nothing” and what will this teach you about yourself?

Try it and let me know how long you last… 😉
