Boost Your Energy With This Ancient Practice

Intro

In this week’s edition, we explore an ancient practice that will boost your energy and help you live longer, I share a fascinating insight on intuition and what it means to go with the energy, and I recommend an action you can take to get off of ultra-processed food.

So, with all that said let’s dive in… ↓

Latest Podcast

My latest podcast episode.

In this episode, I’m joined by Lee Holden as we discuss the ancient practice of Qi Gong, its origins, and its ability to raise consciousness and optimise mind, body, and spirit. Lee explains how this ancient practice focuses on moving life force energy within the body to boost energy, relaxation, and longevity.

Lee is one of the pioneers behind bringing the ancient art of Qi Gong to the modern world, especially here in the West, and I’m excited to be able to share this episode with you today and hope you find it valuable.

I’ve been practising Qi Gong for a few years now and there’s something about it that makes it different to other mind-body practices. I’d highly recommend checking it out for yourself!

1 Insight To Consider

Thought-provoking insights to think about.

This week’s insight is really a lifelong practice of becoming more conscious and aware of oneself as I’ve gained insight into the difference between “feeling” from our energy and “feeling”from our mental-emotional state.

I first understood the difference between the two in 2022 when I took Sonia Choquette’s MindValley Quest, Sixth Sense Superpower. This program is all about intuition which Sonia refers to as our sixth sense and superpower – hence the name! 😉

Going into the last week and I decided to go with my energy more often than not. For example, I exercise daily, that’s a non-negotiable for me, but for this week I would do so depending on how much energy I had.

On Monday, my energy was balanced. I decided to do a HIIT workout rather than my usual resistance training workout I do every Monday morning. I made this decision based on my energy and gut feeling – aka intuition.

This continued throughout the week. And, while I haven’t followed my weekly plan to the letter, as I’ve worked on what I’ve had energy for, and followed my gut feeling, I’ve still managed to complete at least 90% of what I said I would do and for the remaining 10% well I had some mental blocks on these projects anyway which I’ve made breakthroughs with and have a better idea of how to approach – a win-win all round.

So, what does this mean?

This means living from our energy, gut feeling, and intuition is totally possible. We can live from this place and still be productive, and effective, and make progress.

In fact, I’ve found that I’ve been less stressed throughout the week and eager to just get stuff done because I’ve trusted the progress and had faith all will turn out – I’ve followed my energy and gut feeling! 🙌

I recognise that the challenge will be continuing with it from this point forward. This week was an exploration to see what’s possible. And, granted one week is a small sample size.

But, it’s shown me and hopefully will give inspiration to you that it’s possible to live from this place more often than not!

If I hadn’t decided to give this a go this week, I would have gone into my morning workout with balanced energy but with loud mental chatter (which are the endless thoughts that go around and around) saying that I can’t be bothered, I’m tired, you don’t want to do this, and so on which would have affected my mental-emotion state…

However, because I checked in with my energy I realised that I had X amount of energy to give and gave all of it during the session!

Most people crumble under the noise of their mental chatter and make decisions based solely on their mental-emotion state which their mental chatter interferes with.

Checking in with your energy is different, you realise what you can give and you give it all. There is no feeling bad afterwards like you’re a failure which happens so often when we listen to our mental chatter.

Funnily enough, sometimes when you go with the energy and you’re in the flow of action you can give a little bit more than you first felt because your energy increases through taking action.

Using last Monday as another example I usually do my standard HIIT workout to 3 rounds but last Monday after I got into the groove I did a bit more 💪

So, you might be wondering how can you tell the difference between “feeling” from energy and “feeling” from our mental-emotional state which is often dictated by our mental chatter…

That’s a good question and one I had for ages…

I’ve come to learn that “feeling” from energy is felt in our entire body. It requires “dropping in” to our body and becoming aware of how our body feels and what way it’s moving in. The energy originates from our solar plexus out into our entire body.

Whereas “feeling” from our mental-emotional state is first felt for one of a better word in the “head” and then grows stronger and stronger in our body.

Think about the times you’ve been angry – what happens?

Your mental-emotional state changes first – often so quickly that we respond without conscious recognition and then takes over our entire body if we don’t become conscious and choose a different response.

That’s how I’ve learned to differentiate the two…

Now, I’m not an expert on this stuff. I’m figuring it out for myself, but that is one of the insights I’ve had this week and I think it could help us all live more from our intuition and check in with our energy!

I’ll let you know how the coming weeks and months go as I continue to go with the energy and embrace this new way of living…

Can you relate? Have you experienced similar? And, what are your thoughts and feelings on intuition?

1 Idea To Act On

Simple actions to improve your health & life.

If you’ve done any research on nutrition you would know that it’s a minefield. There is so much conflicting advice and information.

But, there is one universal principle that ALL protocols such as keto, paleo, Mediterranean and so on agree on.

And that is…

ULTRA-PROCESSED FOODS ARE BAD!

So, it might be an idea to look at the regular if any ultra-processed foods you find yourself eating and start to make some better choices.

One way you can do this is to replace just one ultra-processed food that you eat but don’t like yet alone love and cut it out.

Decide that you’re not going to eat that food anymore and get rid.

Decide in your consciousness that it doesn’t even exist, it’s not even an option for you and then build from there.

It’s a win-win because you don’t even like it let alone love it, so why are you eating it?

Try it. And, let me know how you get on.
