In this episode, I’m joined by Dr. John Demartini who delves deep into the fundamental principles of living a fulfilled and purposeful life. Together, we explore the concept of aligning one’s actions with their highest values and Dr. Demartini highlights the importance of authenticity and individuality in the pursuit of true happiness.

One of the fundamental principles is the distinct correlation between our dreams, goals, and aspirations and the role of the executive centre of the brain which helps to turn our dreams into tangible objectives. Our goals can exist along a spectrum from fantasy to tangible goals, and it is essential to navigate this spectrum with objectivity, consciousness, and consideration of what the positives and negatives are of any pursuit. By doing so, we can make informed decisions and avoid being blindsided by unexpected challenges.

This principle isn’t something many are aware of much like many other fundamental principles of personal growth and living a fulfilled and purposeful life. Dr. Demartini believes one reason for this is the limitations of the educational system in providing comprehensive personal growth and spiritual education. Traditional education focuses on producing workers rather than creating future leaders and encouraging individuals to think differently and pursue their extraordinary ambitions. However, that doesn’t mean that we can’t do something about it with all of the technology of the modern world and access to all of the global knowledge which has opened up new possibilities for us all to pursue extraordinary education, learn whatever we choose, and make a significant impact in any field we decide.

We live in a world where we’re able to stand on the shoulders of giants and learn from those who left so much extraordinary wisdom behind. We can gain truly transformational insights and accelerate our personal growth and development at the touch of a fingertip like never before. The opportunity is there, and the choice is ours.

We can study the greatest minds, leaders, and fields of knowledge that have ever existed. That doesn’t mean that we need to aspire to create the next Apple or become the next Buddha. It’s about using this knowledge, and wisdom to help find our version of extraordinary and live in alignment with our true values and aspirations. It’s about using wisdom from the greats to help embrace our unique calling and highest values, as this is where true fulfilment lies.

This can be a challenge for multiple reasons. One of which, and maybe the biggest, is the challenge of feeling that you need to seek validation from others and worry about what other people will think. On this challenge, Dr Demartini stresses the importance of giving yourself permission to shine as your authentic self and to transcend the moral hypocrisies of society by prioritising your own values and aspirations. When we truly embrace and live from our own values, we break free from the constraints of societal expectations and live a life of purpose and meaning.

Dr. Demartini adds that when we discover what is most meaningful to us, we can serve others from this place in a way that aligns with our values. This is our gift to the world and will result in experiencing true freedom, fulfilment, and the ability to make a positive impact on the world.
